News: Students kick-start the new year with their Freshers’ Fair

Please note: This news story may contain information that is no longer current or up to date.

The College’s London Road campus was transformed into a colourful, sunny venue, with giant deckchairs, summer inflatables, lei garlands and candyfloss, setting the scene - all in aid of welcoming new students to the College, and to kick-start the next academic year.

Organised by the College’s Wellbeing team, the event was an opportunity for students to meet new people, speak to the services that can be accessed at College, and get a general feel for College life.

Entertainment and activities included live performances by Nottingham College Music and Performing Arts students, a Notts County penalty shoot-out, fairground rides, henna tattoos, face painting and tai chi. External visitors ranged from Nottingham Rugby Club, NUS, and Nottingham City Transport to NHS sexual health services, Base 51, NGY, and local sweet treats sensation Doughnotts.

Wellbeing Manager, Laura Archer, said: “It was fantastic to see so many different areas of the College coming together to ensure that the day was a great success for our students.

On behalf of myself and the Wellbeing team, we would like to thank everyone for their support, particularly our external visitors, who made the event extra special. We hope that this has started the year on a positive note for our students.”
