News: 16 to 19 Tuition Fund — Additional support with your studies
As part of our strategy to support students to develop their knowledge and skills, and to bridge any gaps due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be providing additional support with English and maths, A Level study and other vocational areas, across our campuses this academic year (2021/22).
This will include additional support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) — with study skills for the next level of learning, and additional support for those of our A Level students who need to bridge any gaps in knowledge from year 1 to year 2 (in preparation for further study and their exam-based curriculum).
These are small groups of up to 5 learners in size and are available across all campuses.
This is part of the government’s one-off 16 to 19 tuition fund. The students supported all need to be those who did not achieve grade 5 or above in at least one of GCSE English or maths by age 16. All supported students must also be on a 16 to 19 study programme.
There will be opportunities to engage in small group sessions during the lunchtime periods and throughout the day, alongside live online classes throughout the week.
Current students who feel this would be of benefit to them can talk to their tutor in the first instance.
