News: College Update: 2nd February 2023.
Nottingham College is liaising closely with Nottinghamshire Police and supporting their ongoing enquiries into the incident that took place near to the entrance of its City Hub campus, on Canal Street, in the city centre, on Thursday 2nd February.
As soon as we became aware of the incident we implemented our campus lockdown procedure which protects our entrances and exits and preserves the safety and wellbeing of our college community.
We are incredibly grateful to the Police whose prompt actions led to a cordon being erected and three arrests made.
As the Police got underway with their investigation, we kept our students and staff inside the City Hub campus. To protect the integrity of their investigation, as it continued into the afternoon, the Police advised us to allow students to go home for the remainder of the day.
We anticipate the City Hub to be fully open tomorrow (Friday 3rd February) for all scheduled lessons.
The safety and wellbeing of our students is paramount and we do not tolerate any form of violence or threat to the safety and security of those who work and study with us. We will be supporting the Police with their investigation and trust that those responsible will be held to account for their actions.
