News: Exciting news for sports students here at Nottingham College

Please note: This news story may contain information that is no longer current or up to date.

A career in sports offers an exciting and rewarding future to our students who have chosen to study Sport with us.

Sport has long been linked with positive health and wellbeing, and seen as a crucial component of positive mental health too. Careers in sport extend to a whole range of different pathways including personal training, fitness and coaching, mentoring and wellbeing support, nutrition, sports team support, marketing and promotion, teaching and much more.

Nottingham College has launched its new Fast Track Academy to help our students explore the full range of sports careers out there and to connect them to teams, clubs and individuals who are making their mark in the sports industry locally and regionally.

Together, and through our Fast Track Academy we are able to offer students a full range of experiences in different sports.

The Nottingham College Fast Track Academy is a network of sports clubs, organisations and individuals who want to collaborate in the interests of nurturing talent, supporting young people on their educational and sporting journey, championing health and wellbeing, promoting sports careers and identifying new training opportunities to benefit our sector.

The Fast Track Academy is a new initiative that will help us on our way to have a positive impact on our sporting community.

Already our network has sparked interest from Nottingham Rugby League, Nottingham Lions Ice Hockey, Nottingham Tennis, Winmau darts, the Junior Darts Corporation, and a range of other community clubs. We were proud to contribute to the education of the elite scholars at Notts County and Nottingham Forest, working with the LFE, and all these partnerships help towards providing sports training and competitive opportunities for all young people.

If you are a sports club, individual working in sport coaching or deliver community sports projects, we’d love to hear from you. You can email Ollie Judd or Gary Horsley at Nottingham College: oliver.judd@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk or gary.horsley@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk.

You can also download our Fast Track Sport Academy brochure here which has more information.

Over the summer, we’ll be bringing you more exciting news about some of our new partners, so watch this space to find out more!
