Elijah with other catering students

Catering and Hospitality student Elijah Halton (17) is currently studying for his Professional Chef’s diploma, level 2 with us, and part of his studies include working in our on-site fully functioning restaurant, Fletchers situated on our City Hub campus.

It’s coming up to one of the busiest periods in the catering industry’s calendar with Christmas not being too far away and of the busy time ahead, over the next few weeks Elijah said:

I’m looking forward to the rush and the pressure, I know it can get stressful in a kitchen, however as I am doing something I enjoy, and it gives me challenges to overcome.”

Elijah is studying this course with us because he wants to progress to a career in the competitive catering industry on completion of his studies. By having an on-site restaurant we offer our students a competitive edge and experience supervised by staff, who are professionals in their industry.

Of the course as a whole Elijah shared:

Studying in a live and working environment makes me more confident as a chef as it balances the course well, between physical and practical lessons and I always have an opportunity to polish my skills and experiment with new flavours.

 — Elijah Halton

Fletchers restaurant is now taking bookings for festive events and their Christmas menu  beginning Wed 24 Nov, running until Dec 17 — please book here.
