Research suggests that 49% of the working adult population in the UK have the numeracy level expected of primary school children and over 17 million adults admit to struggling with basic maths.

Did you know, if you are aged 19+ and don’t already hold a maths qualification, you can study them for free with us?

Functional Maths:

Our Functional Maths and English courses develop skills of a functional nature to allow students to feel more comfortable in handling everyday English and Maths situations and lead towards a nationally recognised qualification.

We have Functional Maths courses starting throughout the year, and if you want to up-skill even further, we have lots of options for you to progress further including GCSE Maths.

GCSE Maths:

GCSE maths not only gives you the numeracy skills you’ll need for life, it is your golden ticket to apply for other courses, apprenticeships and jobs – having a 4/C or above at GCSE maths is now a standard requirement.

If you have been a UK resident for 3 years and not already achieved GCSE at Grade 4/C or above, you will not have to pay any tuition fees.

Accounting:

Are you looking to take your maths skills to the next level and consider a career in accounting? Our AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting is being offered as part of the Government’s National Skills Fund which means the majority of adult learners, aged 19+ can study for free!

Hear from former student Reza who used AAT Accounting courses at Nottingham College to get qualified, and now he runs an accountancy business!

My Accounting tutor always supported me and guided me. He also helped me and the other students to find the best next steps, for example to move from Level 3 to Level 4 and then get a licence. He was always helpful and we chatted about the future and jobs.

Another good thing about Nottingham College is that they considered my international qualifications and my skills and experience to help me progress.

So, in quite a short time I’ve got the qualifications I need to work as a professional. I have also developed my communication and technical skills and started my own business.
