News: Registering and Accessing our Parents Information Event

Please note: This news story may contain information that is no longer current or up to date.

As a parent you play a crucial role in helping your child navigate through the tough decisions they face when they finish their GCSEs. To equip you with relevant, up to date information to support your child we will be delivering two parent information events to help explain the wide range of choices available. Whether they’ve applied to study with us and have an offer of a place, or have yet to make up their mind, we can help.

Step 1: Know which event you need to register for

The Parent Information Event is split into two separate events that take place on different evenings:

Our A Level event covers all of the subjects taught at our High Pavement Sixth Form and the Vocational event covers all of our FE College courses across our other campuses.

Prior to registering, make sure you have done your research on those courses and know which event to register for. This can be done through our website by browsing courses, content and entry requirements.

Step 2: Make sure you have a valid email address

Sounds a simple one but make sure your email address is spot on. As soon as you register you will receive a confirmation email straight to your inbox – it will be worth checking your junk inbox as well. You do not need to do anything with this, it just confirms that your registration was successful. Nearer the time of the actual event, you will receive another email providing you with a link to the online event page where you can find instructions on how to access the live event which is taking place on Microsoft Teams.

Step 3: Any questions?

During the registration process there is a field that says, Are there any specific questions you’d like to have answered during the event?’ This is your chance to put down any questions that you may still have about your son or daughter’s journey to College. Our team of College experts will then do their best to answer these questions during the live event. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions via the chat function during the live event as well.

Step 4: Opt-in!

At the bottom of the registration form it really is worth ticking the box I would like to opt-in to receive further information from Nottingham College’. We won’t spam you with any unwanted emails or adverts. We will only provide you relevant and meaningful information regarding Nottingham College and any further events we may be holding such as an actual tour of our facilities/campuses — fingers crossed!

Step 5: Accessing the event

Nearer the time of the live event, you’ll be sent an email with the link to the online event page. You will receive several reminders leading up to the event with the link, so you will not miss when the event is happening.

The event is being broadcast through Microsoft Teams – this can be accessed via a laptop, tablet or mobile device. You can download the Microsoft Teams app for a better experience or just access via the web. As long as you have given us a valid email address and follow all the instructions and links on the emails you will be able to access the events.

If you miss the live event don’t worry! We will send you the recording after the event has finished to ensure you can catch up on anything you have missed.
