Degree-level Theatre Arts student Sabrina McIntosh choreographed a special performance in memory of her friend Danielle Beccan, who was sadly killed in 2004.

This October will mark the 15th anniversary since Danielle, who was just 14 when she became the victim of a drive-by shooting on her way home from Goose Fair.

Sabrina, 28, is coming to the end of the BA (Hons) Top-up Degree in Theatre Arts at Nottingham College. She used her final major project to create a performance to honour her friend, who she said loved to dance.

The memorial event was held at Nottingham College’s Clarendon Community Theatre and included an audience of friends and family, as well as members of the public. Sabrina choreographed, designed the set, planned the music, and marketed the whole event herself as part of her course.

The performance showed good against evil’ and included a mocked 999 call portraying what happened on the night Danielle was killed.

Sabrina worked extremely hard on her final piece and it really showed. For a long time she has wanted to tell the story of her friend through dance and I think she did that beautifully.

Dancers who performed the piece were: Sophie Wilson, Ali Wright, Anita Harvey, Malachi Minto, Bethany Teague, Shannon Moulson, Sophie Mumby, and Chris Brayford.
