News: Student Meal Allowance updated

Table Talker

As our students return to college after the Easter break, many more will now be able to take advantage of an increased provision of free school meals, with a £3.50 meal allowance each day students are in college to spend in the college café.

This increase is due to us broadening the range of eligible students to include those who receive discretionary financial support - i.e. travel pass/materials/childcare etc. A student’s allowance depends upon individual circumstances and age , and they may receive £3.50 per day or a set award per term.

Students should check their email (personal/college) to see if they have received an award!

This should go a long way to helping additional students who may be struggling financially.

For more information/terms & conditions, students should check StudentNet or see the posters in refectories.

Once confirmed, the allowance will be accessible through a students ID card, and students just need to present their ID card at the café till. Students can use the entitlement over a number of meals in the day, and there are great meal options available from breakfast through to lunch, hot and cold. If the allowance is not redeemed at the end of the day then it will not roll over onto the next day.
