News: Students promote Prevent & British Values with winning poster entries
Recently our curriculum delivered a range of sessions and activities to celebrate our annual Prevent and British Values Week, where we aim to promote and educate our students about keeping safe in line with our Safeguarding policy on and off campus.
As part of the range of activities and informative sessions, students were encouraged to create a poster demonstrating what Prevent and British Values meant to them. A lot of fantastic entries were received and congratulations went to two winners of the competition, Iqra Zubair — an A‑Level student and Cristina Barbu (quoted below), a Business and Administration student.
The British Values posters that students were asked to produce had to link British Values with College values and/or what it means to them as a student at Nottingham College.
As part of the prize their posters will soon be printed and placed around College campuses and feature in digital marketing campaigns. The physical prizes were kindly donated by Stone, and the winners of the poster competition have won a laptop or Chromebook each.
Speaking to one of the winners, Cristina Barbu, she said:
Entering the competition allowed me to exploit my creative capabilities. Even though I am studying Administration, I find the digital art to be very comforting and seeing my ideas coming to life, keeps me motivated in my day-to-day life
