Our make-up students have been using their specialist make-up artistry skills to share an important message about sustainability and environmental issues through body art.

The Level 3 Specialist Media Make-up students were set a project called elemental’ and tasked with following a brief to highlight current environmental concerns such as pollution, deforestation and climate change through the use of special effects make-up techniques.

Emily Silver, 19, from Top Valley was part of the project. She recently completed the course and now hopes to gain more experience within the make-up industry, before pursuing her dream career in the film industry.

The course was an incredible experience from start to finish and I was able to let my creativity bloom into a completely new skillset. During this project I particularly enjoyed being able to spread an important message through my favourite art form, plus I learned to work on a larger scale, and it gave me the space to showcase my true talent.
