Nottingham College and our new Fast Track Sports Academy are delighted to announce an exciting partnership with Winmau, the force behind darts.

The Fast Track Academy seeks to enhance opportunities for sport students at the college and offers new experiences to help them kick start their career in Sport. This exciting partnership will allow students to get a behind the scenes look at the world of darts and will enable case study creations within the darting world.

Winmau, have been in partnership with the college for a number of years with their sponsorship of formally known Central Darts Academy, Nottingham Darts Academy and now named Room 180 Academy.

The Nottingham College Fast Track Academy

Nottingham College recently launched this new Fast Track Academy. It’s designed to help Sport students explore the full range of sports careers and to connect them to teams, clubs and individuals who are making their mark in the sports industry locally and regionally.

Together, and through our Fast Track Academy, we are able to offer Sport students a full range of experiences in different sports.

There are different membership levels for organisations (bronze silver and gold). These are all designed to link up our students with the sporting industry.

Gary Horsley, the director of the Fast Track Academy and Room 180 Academy lead, is delighted to announce the continuation of the really successful partnership and is excited for the future impact for the sport of darts and the opportunities that could be created for the college learners.

This allows us to develop the learner’s knowledge of the darting world and creates an opportunity for the dart enthusiasts to link their curriculum to their hobby of darts. Our links with Winmau and Red Dragon enables us to gain inside information of the darts world but also allows us opportunities to look at wider aspects like technology in sport, media / marketing aspects as well as understanding how the sport actually works.

Simon Hall, Marketing Director at Winmau, comments;

The Fast Track Academy is a great idea and the project is beautifully presented, we’d are honoured to be part of it. We have always had such a positive relationship with Gary and the college and really look forward to helping shape the curriculum for those learners that have a passion for the darts. We are excited to be able to support developing darts in Nottingham College and really look forward to seeing the developments of the Room 180 Academy and their initiatives around education. It does look like the future of education and darts is about to take off and we are delighted to be able to support this initiative.
