Support, information and resources for schools

Two school students at the Gemini stand at the Apprenticeship Fair February 2020

Thank you for your interest in Nottingham College and our exciting all year round events programme. Please be aware that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and strict government guidance, we have cancelled or postponed all events. We will provide further updates when restrictions are lifted.

As we’re currently unable to visit schools or invite you to come along to one of our events in person we thought we’d provide you with some handy guides, information and activities to look at in the meantime.

Have you got any questions?
We’re happy to answer your questions and you can get in touch by sending an email to schoolsteam@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk.

There’s also lots of information about life at Nottingham College on our Curious about College pages too!

Virtual Open Evenings

During our Virtual Open Evenings we will be running a live Question and Answer session with our tutors – and it couldn’t be easier for you to ask your question.

Once you have joined the live Q&A event on Microsoft Teams you will be able to see a question mark (?) icon. Click this icon and it will open up the Q&A and the floor is yours to ask any question you want (within reason). You can add your name so the tutor can personalise their response to you or you can even ‘post as anonymous’ if you do not want to reveal yourself.

It is important to remember that no one will be able to hear or see you on camera – the tutors will be the only people visible and they will answer all the questions in the chatbox verbally through the live video.

We’re sure you have lots of questions that you are eager to ask. Click here to see some suggestions we think could be useful:

  • What modules do we study?
  • How is the course assessed? Exams, coursework or both?
  • How is the course graded?
  • Do I need purchase any uniform or equipment prior to starting?
  • Do I need to prepare any work before I start in September?
  • What do the first few weeks of college look like?
  • How many students will be in a class?
  • How many hours of additional work outside of College do you recommend?
  • Do we undertake work experience?
  • Does the course involve any trips?
  • What are the progression routes from this course?
  • What careers does this course lead too?
