Deciding what your next step is after school can be a daunting prospect, it’s important that you know all your options before you make that final decision on your future career path. *Open Events are a brilliant way to find out all you need to know.

Here are the top 10 reasons why you should consider coming to see us at one of our open events!

  1. Research all your options
    Open events provide a fantastic opportunity to find out more about progression opportunities from our entry level courses all the way to University level courses. Take time to look at the breadth of full time courses and range of apprenticeships as we have over 300 to choose from!
  2. Get some advice
    Our student services team will be available during all our events. We have dedicated careers advisors to talk you through any course queries; student finance can provide information on finance support and travel options. Finally our Additional Learning support team are available to provide guidance on any learning support you may need.
  3. Check out our facilities
    During an open event staff will often provide tours of the campus, show you around the areas you will studying in like our refectories, libraries and student common areas. It’s a great opportunity to see it first hand and what it could be like for you to study at Nottingham College!
  4. Find a course for you
    All our tutors are waiting to talk to you! Expect to find out what grades you need, the kinds of things you will do, the opportunities and experiences you will have. Most importantly the career and job you could find yourself in after you have completed the course.
  5. Ask an Ambassador
    We have lots of student ambassadors ready to tell you about their experience and what exciting things they have been able to do like residentials, enrichment activities and trips home and abroad. Our enrichment programme is open to all students.
  6. Get the lowdown on Work Experience
    We can provide information on what this means for you. Most of our courses offer work placements as part of the course – our work experience coordinators help students undertake placement during the year with a range of local and national employers
  7. Find out about our links with Employers
    Alongside work placements many of our courses offer live projects in collaboration with employers. These hands-on practical projects are a great way to showcase your skills and give your CV a real boost!
  8. Apply for a place
    Our dedicated Application Zone is available at all our events , so you can apply for a course with the help of our experienced admissions staff who will guide you through the process
  9. Everyone is Welcome
    We understand that this can be a big deal for young people, so please bring your support team with you! This could be parents, carers, family members or friends! Remember everyone is in the same boat. If you are struggling to make your decision you aren’t alone.
  10. Find out about future events
    Once you have been to see us we are happy to stay in touch to let you know about future events. Things like subject tasters where you can get a hands on experience in the subject you are interested in or specific events like our Apprenticeship Fair or Higher Education Open Day.
