Job description

Wildax Motorhomes are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Motorhome Engineer to join their busy workshop learning how to construct and maintain Motorhomes.

Duties would include:

  • Servicing the motorhomes
  • Internal and external repairs
  • Interior fittings
  • Furniture construction - and fitting
  • Accessory fittings
  • Gas and electrical testing and fitting
  • Damp testing
  • Habitation checks
  • Insurance work
  • Damp repairs

Qualifications required

4 GCSEs at A* - D/9-3 in maths/English (or equivalent) essential including English Language, maths and ICT.

Candidate requirements

The candidate must be able to travel to the workplace according to working hours. Candidates must be willing to travel to the EMTEC training centre in Ruddington, Nottingham to complete the block release training. This travel to college will be arranged by WildAx.

Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation.

This apprenticeship is work based learning therefore most of the time you will be working at the employers address.

Training provided

Intermediate Apprenticeship in Caravan and Motorhome Maintenance and Repair:

  • IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Caravan & Motorhome Maintenance & Repair (QCF)
  • Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS)
  • Functional Skills Level 1 (if required)

Off the job training in college will be via seven separate block weeks of training in Nottingham throughout the course of the programme.

Future progression

Upon successful completion and review of the level 2 apprenticeship the post holder will progress to a level 3 apprenticeship.

WildAx Motorhomes manufacture new motorhomes and Campervans using Citroen, Renault and Fiat vans. We also offer a "try before you buy rental service" for customers; this enables customers to try living in our motorhomes before purchasing. We have tried to make the ordering process as simple as possible so that you can ensure that you get just what you need from your motorhome. We manufacture a very high specification motorhome range from our factory in West Yorkshire with layouts for 2, 3 and 4 berth motorhome designs.
