Apprentice Construction Quantity Surveying Technician

Job description

DJ Swallow Brickwork Ltd have an opportunity for an apprentice to start their career with them as an Apprentice Quantity Surveying Technician. This is a key role in ensuring that construction projects are delivered successful to pre-set specifications and guidelines and within agreed budgets and financial cost controls.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting senior managers with the budgeting of construction projects
  • Control of costs during a construction project
  • Recording, control and reporting of income and expenditure on a construction project
  • Valuation of progress on construction projects
  • To assist senior managers with the legal and contractual issues on a construction project
  • Assist with the selection and management of specialist contractors
  • Contribute to the mitigation of disputes using accurate records
  • Contributing to project review meetings
  • Attend and participate in presentations and workshops and other company activities
  • Supporting the administration of projects, and general office duties
  • Taking responsibility for aspects of your training and ongoing development and for the collection of evidence in support of this

Qualifications required

Minimum entry requirements: Maths, English Language and ICT GCSE grades 8-4/A-C and above (or equivalent qualification) an existing Level 3 qualification in a related construction specialism apprenticeship would be advantageous and might reduce the overall duration but would not be essential.

Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship - Construction Quantity Surveying Technician.
