Long Clawson Medical Practice is looking to recruit a hardworking and ambitious apprentice administrator to work in their busy medical practice based in Long Clawson. This is a unique and varied role, allowing you to gain transferable and invaluable skills.
Within this role you will be required to receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. You will provide general administration assistance to the practice team and to project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, both in person and via the telephone.
Duties within the role will include:
- Faxing, filing and photocopying
- Scanning and updating patients records
- Laminating and designing displays for the waiting room
- Reception cover as and when required
- Keeping reception clean and tidy
- Opening and sorting mail
- To adhere to practice policies and procedures
- Make and serve refreshments, ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy
- Any other ad-hoc admin duties as required
We offer 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Skills required: The post holder will be able to demonstrate strong organisational and team working skills. They will have a good general knowledge of ICT packages and demonstrate a good level of spoken and written literacy.
A*-D or 9-3 maths and English at GCSE desirable but not essential.
Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation.

This apprenticeship is work based learning therefore most of the time you will be working at the employer’s address. You will need to attend college every other week in Nottingham for initial assessments, enrolment and a few other rare occasions.
Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration Level 2 – 12 months.
- Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration
- Functional Skills English, maths and ICT Level 1 if required
This apprenticeship is 1 day every other week at the college term time only 9am – 5pm with the other days based at the work place.
