Job description

This is a great opportunity to join our friendly and inclusive school family at Firbeck Academy. You’ll be joining our administration team. You’ll provide vital capacity in our school, working on office, finance and communications tasks whilst learning from our experienced leaders as you develop in your role.

Purpose of the role

To support the members of the school community with a range of administrative duties.

Specific Responsibilities

  • General school administration including managing student data, amending addresses etc. using the school’s management information system and other software.
  • Assisting on the school reception desk, answering the phone and dealing with stakeholder enquiries.
  • The ongoing update and maintenance of the school website content including uploading news events.
  • Arranging events in school and supporting them on the day, these to include, school photos, vaccinations, celebration events, year 5/6 open evening, progress evenings.
  • Deploying supply staff to support lessons in the teacher’s absence.
  • Supporting the school finance lead in day to day finance administration including support with keying of school orders.
  • Complete general school filing.
  • Completion of paperwork relating to pupil admissions and exclusions.
  • Support the completion of the school Single Central Record.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by school leadership.

To carry out any tasks that arise in the school office or within the Office Team. Training will be given as required. These tasks include but are not limited to:

  • General administration
  • Fire Warden/First Aid support (First Aid at Work certificate required).
  • Willing to undertake and make future use of any training as required.

Working week Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm. One day you will start at 8.30am and one day you will finish at 3.30pm. These days will be confirmed with the successful candidate. This position is term-time only.
