Job description

Equi-Trek are the largest producer of horseboxes and trailers in the UK and the only British company to manufacture a complete range of horse transport from lightweight, towable trailers up to 26 tonne motorised horseboxes for over 10 horses.

Automotive and transportation engineering is a rapidly growing sector with jobs spanning a whole range of different industries. If you are practically minded with an interest in mechanics and automotive repair you could be perfect as the next apprentice to work for Equi-Trek. Equi-Trek are the largest producer of horse boxes and trailers in the UK, working with lightweight towed trailers through to 26-tonne horse transportation units carrying over 10 horses at a time.

To get horses and their equipment safely from A to B, Equi-Trek employ a range of technicians and engineers to service and repair the trailers. They are looking to expand the team by hiring an apprentice to train as a Caravan and Motorhome Maintenance and Repair technician to work from their base in Sheffield and to learn and develop their skills through a mix of on-the-job training alongside block-release training at Nottingham College.

This training will include:

  • Internal and external repairs
  • Interior fittings
  • Accessory fittings
  • Gas and electrical testing
  • Damp testing
  • Habitation checks
  • Insurance work

This apprenticeship will equip you with the highest level of skill and practical ability within the industry to go on to have a successful and fulfilling career.   • Customer service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Caravan and Motorhome Maintenance and Repair and level 2 customer service Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) Functional Skills Level 1 (if required) Off the job, training in college will be via separate block weeks of training in Nottingham throughout the course of the programme

Future progression

  • Possible permanent position on the completion of the apprenticeship
