Attenborough Dental Laboratory are looking for a bright individual who has a keen interest in IT and systems. They manufacture bespoke scanning equipment for hospitals across country which the equipment can be used remotely.

Attenborough Dental Laboratory are looking for a bright and highly motivated individual who has a keen interest in IT and systems to work at the cutting edge of 3D technology. Practical experience of sculpture, art and making detailed models or hand craftwork would be an advantage. Attenborough use high tech scanning and 3D printing equipment to manufacture custom made medical devices for dentists and hospitals across country. The apprentice's role would be to use CAD design and CAM 3D manufacturing software and 3D printers and offer support, advice and guidance to clients on this brand new top of the range equipment.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Designing software and upgrades
  • Offering support to clients on how to use the remote equipment
  • CAD work
  • 3D Design work

Skills required

You will need to be able to demonstrate both written and verbal communication skills as well as strong IT skills and problem solving.

Qualifications required

A* - D/9-3 maths, English and ICT GCSE (or equivalent) desirable but not essential. Candidate will be required to meet minimum levels of requirement through computer based assessments.

Candidate requirements

Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation.

This apprenticeship is work based learning therefore most of the time you will be working at the employer’s address. Depending on your training you will only need to attend college in Nottingham for initial assessments, enrolment and a few other rare occasions.

Candidate must be available to start as soon as possible. Candidate must be able to travel to the workplace according to working hours.

Training provided

Intermediate Apprenticeship in information and Communications Technology - 12 months.

  • Diploma in ICT Professional Competence - Level 2
  • Award in ICT Systems and Principles - Level 2
  • Functional Skills English, maths and ICT Level 1

This apprenticeship is work based learning therefore most of the time you will be working at the employer’s address. Depending on your training you will only need to attend college in Nottingham for initial assessments, enrolment and once a week for day release.
