Do you want a dynamic career in the automotive industry? CSG Motor Company have a fantastic opportunity for a Parts Apprentice to join their busy SsangYong workshop in Chalfont St. Giles.

This exciting role will include:

Ordering, selling, and managing stock control on a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories.

Duties may vary from employer to employer but will typically include:

  • Advising customers on how to solve a problem with their vehicle
  • Taking orders from customers, both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Maintaining an ordered stock room and finding parts from stock
  • Raising invoices for parts sold
  • Liaising with other members of staff

Working alongside on-site Service Technicians to ensure they have the parts needed to complete their daily work.

Skills required

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A keen interest in and knowledge of the motor vehicle industry
  • Mechanically minded with meticulous attention to detail
  • The willingness to also undertake basic duties as part of training

Qualifications required

4 GCSE’s at grade A* to C/9 to 4 (or equivalent) in maths and English. Science and ICT are desirable.

Candidate requirements

Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation.

This apprenticeship is work based learning therefore most of the time you will be working at the employer’s address.

Candidates must be able to travel to the workplace according to working hours. Candidates must also be willing to travel to Emtec in Ruddington, Nottingham to complete the block release training.

Training provided

Candidates will work towards achieving the Vehicle Parts Consultant Programme Apprenticeship at Level 2.

You will also be required to study towards achieving Level 2 English and maths Functional Skills if you do not already hold equivalent qualifications.

The training will take place four weeks per year via block release to The SsangYong Training Facility at Emtec College Nottingham.

Training will include:

  • Nationally recognised qualifications
  • IMI level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Parts Competence
  • IMI Accreditation - Parts Advisor
  • Regular in-dealer review and assessment visits

Based on successful progression to Level 3 which will take a further 12 months, you will also cover Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Parts Principles as well as the above.

Future progression

Upon successful completion and review of the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to gain employment with the business.
