Graphic Design (Advertising) Foundation Degree Level 4 & 5

If you want to use your creative flair to find practical solutions to problems, develop your illustrative and communication skills and specialise in advertising, this course is for you.


It has visual communication at its core. You’ll be encouraged to explore, experiment and solve creative problems using both traditional design methods and computer technology.


You may have a very clear idea of your direction on starting the course, but you’ll be challenged to take risks and develop genuinely original ideas.


You’ll undertake a range of vocational projects which will challenge you to provide communication and design solutions in areas such as publishing, advertising, corporate work, publicity information, and new media. In year two you’ll specialise in advertising.


The course can lead to a variety of careers such as an advertising art director, art editor, illustrator, packing technologist or graphic designer.


We have strong links with local, national and international companies who look for graduates to join their organisations. Guest speakers are a regular feature of the course; recent visitors have included Tomato Collective, Tom Muller and Studio Output.

You'll have the opportunity to participate in the annual New Designers exhibition in London; this is the ideal opportunity to showcase your work to talent scouts from the industry.
