This course is perfect if you have a talent and passion for acting and the performing arts and want to refine your skills further in preparation for drama school or university. This course is run in association with the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA).
You’ll learn and develop further skills in acting, voice, plus devising and producing theatre, through specialist classes and projects during the year. You’ll visit the theatre both locally and nationally, reviewing performance to get a taste of current industry trends. You will also have visitors from industry sharing their professional experience with you.
You can expect tutors that have a wealth of industry experience and knowledge, the opportunity to explore different texts, periods and genres of theatre, and the opportunity to devise your own pieces. You’ll work with students from other courses to create performance material, giving you the chance to develop effective communication skills and confidence.
Start: 4th September 2019
Course code: C022366 / Q022369
You’ll need either a Level 3 vocational qualification in acting or related performing arts subject, or 3/4 A Levels, ideally with a performing arts subject, and/or substantial performing experience with the intention of applying for drama school the following year.
Over the past three years, students who have attended Nottingham College have gained places as prestigious institutions such as Bristol Old Vic, LIPA, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and the Arts Educational Schools. By associating directly with such a prestigious institution as ALRA, we hope to improve access to Drama School Training for all of our students, and further improve the quality of the provision that we provide.
Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees. If you are aged 19 or over, check out our Financial Help page for information on fees and funding!
