You will get the chance to add to your existing skills, while earning a wage and gaining more advanced technical knowledge of plastering.

This course is for those employed in the construction industry as a plasterer. You will come into College one day a week to complete the underpinning knowledge and portfolio building to compile the evidence you need for your qualifications.The apprenticeship is made up of the following elements:

  • NVQ 3 in Plastering
  • Level 3 Diploma in Plastering
  • Employment rights and responsibilities)
  • Personal learning and thinking skill

Qualification

Advanced Apprenticeship in Plastering

Duration

18-24 months

Level Level 3
Entry requirements
  • You will need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week as a plasterer.
  • You will also need GCSEs at grades A* to C/9 to 4 or equivalent in English Language and Maths. Some employers may require additional qualifications depending on the role.

Adults who are aged 19+ with appropriate industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.

All applicants will be required to undertake an assessment in English and maths prior to enrolling.

Teaching & assessment

Each unit is continually assessed. You will present evidence of competence via practical assessments and production of a personal portfolio.

Progression

After gaining work experience in the chosen occupational area there are also opportunities for you to progress into occupational work supervision, management or technical support areas.

Further study options include:

  • HNC/HND/foundation degrees in areas such as construction and the built environment, construction management or conservation and restoration
Additional information

You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times during your placement and at College when using any tools/machinery.
