If you’re looking to build on your existing skills, while working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of vehicle accident repair facilities, this programme will give you the advanced technical knowledge you need.

The programme covers the advanced technical and practical needs for today’s motor vehicle body repair industry.

The learning programme involves studying a range of theory and practical aspects, including the following:

  • Tools, equipment and materials
  • Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components
  • Remove, refurbish and refit trim components
  • Refrigerant handling
  • Health and safety

Qualification

Vehicle Body and Paint - Mechanical, Electrical and Trim - Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Duration

12 - 18 months

Level Level 3
Entry requirements
  • You will need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a relevant job but we can assist you in finding a placement
  • You will also need 4 GCSEs at grades A* to C/9 to 4 or equivalent including English Language and Maths and a relevant Level 2 qualification. Some employers may require additional qualifications depending on the role

Adults who are aged 19+ with appropriate industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.

All applicants will be required to undertake an assessment in English and maths prior to enrolling.

Teaching & assessment

For each module you will have to complete course work, written assignments, practical assessments, online tests and work-based observations.

Progression
  • Higher apprenticeships or specialist training to further improve your knowledge and skills
  • Career in the automotive accident repair industry
