If you want to start or develop your career in business admin across a huge range of industries, this apprenticeship could give you the springboard you need.

You will develop and demonstrate skills and knowledge within a workplace to achieve the qualification.

You have the option to choose business administration tailored to the following environments, depending on your job:

  • General business administration
  • Customer service
  • Legal administration

A significant amount of on-the-job training is undertaken in the workplace. This is a demanding but interesting and enjoyable course in which you’ll gain valuable workplace experience in an administrative role.

Most jobs in this sector are office-based with a typical 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday working week.

A range of core units will be delivered in the classroom on day-release.

Business and Administration - Business and Administration - Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2)


12 months

Entry requirements
  • You will need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a relevant job but we can assist you in finding a placement.
  • You will also need GCSEs at grades A* to C/9 to 4 or equivalent in English Language, maths and ICT. Some employers may require additional qualifications depending on the role.

Adults who are aged 19+ with appropriate industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.

All applicants will be required to undertake an assessment in English, maths and ICT prior to enrolling.


You will develop an electronic portfolio of evidence against the requirements of the qualification. Evidence can be generated by observation of your workplace, witness testimonies, case studies or personal accounts of events. Online tests may be used to confirm your knowledge and understanding.

  • Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration
  • Career opportunities include: administrator/business support officer, office junior, receptionist, junior legal secretary.
