If you’re passionate about the biological sciences, this Higher National Certificate course could be ideal.

It is designed to provide you with a broad range of skills, knowledge, understanding and personal qualities required to work in a biological science-based field. This course is also suitable if you are currently employed in a relevant industrial sector and are seeking higher-level qualifications to develop further your career.

You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of biological theories and practice to be able to apply them in a variety of science-related industrial contexts.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of 48 UCAS points (preferably including a science-based subject).

You must have achieved GCSE passes at Grades A* - C/ 9 - 4 in English Language and Maths or equivalent.

Mature students with relevant industrial experience are encouraged to apply.

Assessment

Units are assessed via a range of internally set and assessed assignments including: reports, case studies, oral presentations, practical assessments, individual project work, data analysis, research, investigation, problem-solving tasks and portfolios of evidence.
