This course will give an introduction to cake decorating, using a variety of techniques to create a professional finish to your cakes to wow family and friends.
Topics include learning how to:
- Make a novelty cake
- Cover a cake with icing
- Cupcake toppers
- Piping with butter cream

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.
There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites.
The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.
You will need to bring your own tools, materials and an apron. You will need a cake and cupcakes for this course. The cost for materials and equipment is usually around £50 - £60 for the whole course, BUT it depends on the how much you want to spend and where you buy your items from.
