This course is perfect if you would like to improve your cake decoration skills and want to start selling them!

You will learn how to decorate a celebration cake with wired flowers and a variety of frills also make a celebration cake using butter cream.

You will also learn how to price cakes to sell from home or at craft fairs etc.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you must have a basic knowledge of cake decorating.

Assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

Progression

There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites.

The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.

Additional information

You will need to bring your own tools, materials and an apron. You will need a sponge cake and dummy cakes for this course. The cost for materials and equipment is usually around £50 - £60 for the whole course, BUT it depends on how much you want to spend and where you buy the items from.
