Course outline

Competency based questions can sound a little scary as they are so involved. However, they are just a way for employers to make sure you know what you are talking about. Making sure that you answer these questions properly can stand you a great chance of getting an interview!

This one-day course will help to equip you with some basic skills and knowledge to support you to complete competency based applications.

The course will cover the following:

  • Introduction to competency based applications
  • Importance of person / job specifications in applying for jobs
  • Matching skills / qualities and experience for applications
  • Example competency questions areas
  • How to structure a competency
  • Power words to use for competencies
