Course outline

Build your confidence and improve your wellbeing on this short course.

The focus of this course is to help build on the skills and qualities needed in your personal and busy lives. You will develop the confidence to be able to contribute to group discussions, understand the characteristics of a confident person, outline the importance of developing your communications skills and how listening to others can build support networks and confidence.

The course will:

  • Give you an understanding of ways you can reflect on your own personal developments and behaviours
  • Teach you how you can work towards goals you have set successfully
  • Give you ways to encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle and strategies
  • Teach you how to promote a balanced life

Topics include:

  • Understanding what confidence is
  • How we can use communication skills to improve our own confidence
  • Knowing how to set goals and increase confidence
  • Being able to work with others as part of a team or group
  • Recognising your own strengths and areas you may need to develop
  • Identifying the steps required to live a healthy lifestyle
  • Understanding the importance of a balanced life

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you must be aged 19+ and have a good standard of spoken and written English as you will be required tp complete a mandatory course workbook (Individual Learning Plan) each week, with the support of the course tutor.

Teaching & assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete a short workbook and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

Progression

The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.
