This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in gaining an awareness of the core counselling skills.
This introductory course will help you gain basic counselling skills and give you an overview of what counselling training involves.
The course is suited for people who have little or no counselling experience who are interested in developing their counselling-related skills to either enhance their work or as the starting point for further training in counselling.
You will learn about core counselling skills and will have a chance to practice these new skills in a safe and supportive environment.

There are no formal entry requirements however you should have a good standard of written and spoken English.
Please note, this course is not suitable for those that require counselling.
Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.
There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites.
