The focus of this course is to learn hand and machine embroidery skills.
The course is aimed at beginners who want to learn embroidery techniques. We will explore both hand and machine embroidery which can be used to produce a finished piece.
On this course, you will:
- Learn basic hand embroidery stitches from simple outlines to embroidered shapes, text and motifs.
- Learn how to use a free motion embroidery machine
- Create a finished piece using hand and/or machine embroidery techniques which will be mounted in an embroidery frame

There are no formal entry requirements but you must be aged 19+.
As you will be required to complete a mandatory course workbook (Individual Learning Plan) each week, with the support of your course tutor, you must have a good standard of written and spoken English.
|Teaching & assessment||
Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete a short workbook and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.
The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.
