Fashion and Textiles (Level 1) — Part-time
Course outline
This course is perfect for any beginner who has never sewn before, or wants a refresher course on sewing.
This course will introduce you to:
- Sewing techniques for garment making
- The basics of using a domestic sewing machine
- Various stitches used to make garments
You will explore a range of fastenings and finishes and the course will enable you to acquire the introductory skills and knowledge to progress onto the Professional Sewing Skills course at Nottingham College.
You can expect a friendly and inclusive atmosphere with excellent tutor teaching. You will gain new knowledge and skills in sewing and have opportunities to develop your creativity.
By the end of the course, you will be able to use the design process in your own practice and produce a garment to wear. You will also be able to use textiles applications with your fashion design work.
