Whether you're a budding green thumb or just starting to explore the world of gardening, our Introduction to Gardening course is a short taster programme that will be your gateway to a vibrant and thriving garden!

If you’re looking for a part-time course that gives you skills you to add to your CV, enriches your social life, furthers an interest, or keeps your hand in with learning, then you’ve come to the right place.

This is a short taster programme will introduce you to a subject area. This would be a great starting point if you want to go on to study at a higher level or pursue your interest.

You will learn gardening for everyday life and independent living.

You will begin to gain a basic knowledge and understanding of tasks within the garden and carry out practical work to achieve competence of components in the course. You will be supported to produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your skills and achievements of the programme.

Activities include:

  • Pruning shrubs
  • Potting plants
  • Planter painting
  • Repotting plants
  • Growing plants and fruit
  • Watering

You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive group, with like-minded people and a helpful tutor.
