Course introduction

The DAH1 module is a specialist assessment under the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) for gas engineers working with domestic warm air heating systems. This course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to install, commission, service, and repair gas-fired warm air units safely and in accordance with current industry standards and manufacturer specifications.

  • Appliance Types & Operation: Understand the design and function of gas-fired warm air units, including ducted systems and room-sealed appliances.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Learn correct procedures for positioning, connecting, testing, and commissioning warm air units.
  • Servicing & Fault Diagnosis: Gain hands-on experience in routine maintenance and identifying faults specific to warm air heating systems.
  • Safety & Compliance: Apply gas safety legislation, ventilation and flueing requirements, and manufacturer instructions relevant to warm air appliances.

Course information

12 hours

You must have an in-date Core Gas Safety Certificate (CCN1) and experience of working with domestic warm air units.

Assessment is by practical tests and a theory exam.
