GCSEs for people aged 19+ (Level 2) - Full-time


Course outline

This course is perfect if you are over the age of 19 and looking to improve your GCSE grades you currently hold.

You can expect to study in a supportive and friendly learning environment. You will select a minimum of three GCSEs up to a maximum of five GCSEs subjects (five GCSEs will only offered in exceptional cases), which must include English and Maths, if you have not already achieved a minimum of grade 4 (grade C) in these subjects.

You will receive support and guidance throughout your GCSE study, to ensure you achieve the grades that you want and need.

You’ll study your GCSE subjects over one year, so excellent attendance in all subject areas is a must if you’re going to keep up and ultimately to succeed.

  • Maths
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Sociology
  • History
  • Psychology
  • Religious studies

    Entry requirements

    You’ll need to be aged 19 or over and have 4 GCSEs at grades 9–3 (A*–D) including English Language and Maths - one of either English Language or Maths needs to be grade 9–4 (A*–C).

    You’ll also need experience of the subjects you’ve chosen, which we’ll assess before you start to make sure you are able to study well at this level.


    You will be assessed by coursework and examinations.


    Choose to follow with further study on an Access to Higher Education course, A Level programme, Level 3 vocational course or apprenticeship through Nottingham College.
