Course outline

This course explores how to make changes to your life using clear and realistic goals. You will consider the steps needed to move you forward. There will be opportunities to build a personal action plan to help turn goals into achievements. The course can help us to achieve the things we want to in our life, keep us focussed and help us deal with problems.

Learning objectives will include:

  • The benefits of setting goals
  • Resources to achieve goals
  • Recognising SMART Goals

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but a good standard of English is required.

Assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

Progression

There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham college campuses. The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.
