Course outline

This generic qualification is designed to ensure that all employees in the public or private sector are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. It is aimed at every employment sector in the U.K. to meet the National Standards of knowledge expected of every employee.

Entry requirements

A minimum literacy level 1 is desirable with a good oral understanding of English to level 2.


Teaching hours are arranged to suit the learner.

At the end of the course there will be a multiple choice test of 30 questions. Students who correctly answer 20 or more of these questions will receive a certificate from HABC.


It is possible to progress from this course to higher level courses such as IOSH Certificate or Certificate in Health & Safety from NEBOSH.
