Course outline

If you have an interest in working with adults in a social care setting and want to develop your knowledge in health and social care then this is the ideal course for you.

During the length of the programme you can expect to develop a portfolio of work as well as plenty of opportunities for self-development.

During this course you’ll learn about different job roles available in health and social care, as well as the importance of communication, health and safety, duty of care and person-centred care.

You will be expected to go on work placements to gain vital experience in the industry. During these work placements you will have assessments to ensure you are learning the skills you need.

NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)


25 weeks

Entry requirements

You'll need:

  • 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3 (A*-D), including English Language and Maths, one of English Language or Maths at Grade 9-4 (A*-C); or
  • A relevant Level 1 vocational qualification plus English or Maths with at least one Functional Skills Level 2 and one at Level 1.

Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 as GCSE grade 4 (C)


After successful completion of this course you can progress on to the Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care or the Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care here at Nottingham College.
