This course is perfect if you have an interest in working with adults in a social care setting and want to develop your knowledge and skills in health and social care.

You’ll learn a range of different units including learning about different job roles in health and social care, the importance of communication, health and safety, duty of care and person-centred care. You will also have plenty of opportunities for self-development.

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grade 9– 3 (A*– D), including English Language and maths – one of English Language or maths must be grade 9– 4 (A*– C). Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above.

Teaching & assessment

You will develop a portfolio of work and have assessments in the workplace.

Progression

You can choose to follow with further studies on the Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care at Nottingham College.
