If you have an interest in working with adults in a social care setting and want to develop your knowledge in health and social care then this is the ideal course for you.

During the length of the course you can expect to develop a portfolio of work as well as plenty of opportunities for self-development.

This course is perfect if you have an interest in working with adults in a social care setting and want to develop your knowledge and skills in health and social care.

You’ll learn a range of different units including learning about different job roles in health and social care, the importance of communication, health and safety, duty of care and person centred care.

You can expect to develop a portfolio of work and have assessments in the workplace, you will also have plenty of opportunities for self development.

Entry requirements

You'll need

  • 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3 (A*-D), including English Language and Maths, one of English Language or Maths must be at Grade 9-4 (A*-C); or
  • A relevant Level 1 vocational qualification plus English or Maths with at least one Functional Skills Level 2 and one at Level 1.

Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 as GCSE grade 4 (C).

Teaching & assessment

Assessment is continuous.

Progression

You can choose to follow with further studies on the Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care at Nottingham College.
