Course outline

This course is a competence based course and the qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with anyone over 18 years old.

This course is perfect if you want to develop your knowledge and skills in health and social care. This qualification aims to develop your perception of the concepts around both health and social care in order for you to progress into employment in the sector.

You’ll learn all about duty of care, how to support individual needs, person centred care, safeguarding, health and safety and communication skills.

You can expect to learn in a supportive and encouraging environment whilst developing a portfolio of work to be assessed in the workplace. You’ll also have lots of opportunities for personal development.

You'll need

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English Language and Maths – both of these must be grade 9-4 (A*-C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths; or
  • A relevant Level 2 vocational qualification with English and Maths GCSE grades 9-4 (A*-C).

Assignment tasks, case studies, presentations, professional discussion and assessments in ICT, assessment in placement.

Progression
