Screen Printing at 25 Stoney Street (Level 1) – Part-time

Course outline

This is perfect for any beginner or improver who is interested in learning or developing creative screen printing processes. You will need prior experience for the Advanced Courses in Term 3.

Introduction to Screen Printing - Term 1 - September start

You will explore the techniques of screen-printing through a series of workshops led by the tutor.

You will cover health and safety processes and be inspired by artists and designers using screen-printing in their creative and commercial work.

You will work with different colours, scales and on paper and fabric. This is an experimental courses allowing you to explore new skills and be encouraged to expand your creativity.

Explore Screen Printing - Term 2 - January start

This evening class is for people who would like to learn the screen-printing process and develop their skills.

Throughout the period of the course, you will have the opportunity to create and produce a variety of screen prints using the workshop facilities in led sessions.

Outcomes include paper stencils, screen stencils, open screen, t-shirt prints and the opportunity to develop your ideas more independently in the final 2 weeks.

Advanced Screen Printing - Term 3 - April start

This evening class is for people that have done previous printing courses with us and are confident with the screen printing process, but would like the opportunity to use our workshop facilities to independently produce their own printed outcomes.

A member of staff will facilitate the session and be available to support with practical queries and offer guidance on independent projects.

You will receive an induction to our well resourced Print Studio, excellent tutor teaching and guidance from staff who are industry experts, new knowledge and skills in print-making, and opportunities to develop your creativity within 2D print processes.

Basic inks and paper will be provided on the course. If you want to develop your work further you can purchase art materials at our Art Shop based at 25 Stoney Street.
