This is an introductory course equipping you for your journey to becoming an outstanding volunteer. It is an ideal taster to develop and learn new skills on volunteering, benefits of volunteering and essential tips for volunteers.

This introduction to volunteering course gives an opportunity for you to be embedded with knowledge on how to explore new interest and hobbies as you generate a sense of achievement.

On this course, you will learn:

  • Benefits of volunteering.
  • Volunteer preparation.
  • What you can do as a volunteer.
  • How to find volunteer opportunities.
  • Impact of Volunteering.
  • What to expect as a volunteer.
  • Your rights as a volunteer.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you must have a good standard of English as you will be required to complete a mandatory course workbook (Individual Learning Plan) each week, with the support of your course tutor.

Teaching & assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete a short workbook and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.
