ICT Systems Support (Level 3) — Full-time
Course outline
This course is perfect if you want to gain hands on skills to work in the field of IT support.
Examples of units you may study include:
- Customer Support Provision for the ICT Professional
- Networking principles
- Maintain ICT equipment and systems
- Principles of ICT systems and data security
- ICT systems and network management
- ICT repair centre procedure
- Creative Problem Solving
You will use a range of techniques to diagnose and repair computer systems and networks to meet an organisation’s needs.
As part of your studies one day a week you will be working with the work experience team to help gain placements over the course of your study. Initially this will be online as they work with you to find a placement linked to your studies. This will help build your skills, confidence and insights into the area of work as a future career. Alongside this you will build your CV and it will help towards your digital portfolio. This will help your next steps when applying to University or into industry.
Aged 19 or over?
If you don't already hold a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to at least two A Levels, or a Level 3 vocational qualification), you may be able to study this course fully funded!
The Government’s new National Skills Fund programme has created new opportunities for adults, aged 19 and over, to access fully funded full-time learning.

If you are aged 16-18 without having achieved a Level 3 qualification, you will also be eligible for full funding.

Functional Skills Level 2 will be accepted as an equivalent to GCSE Grade 9-4/A*-C. |

Progression | Choose to follow with progression to Level 4 Diploma in ICT, CompTIA A+, CISCO, Access to Computing or an Apprenticeship. You can also choose employment in network installation and maintenance, IT helpdesk support and IT technician posts. |
