Course outline

This course is a great introduction to using word processing in the workplace and includes:

  • Enter data, numbers and symbols
  • Understand the importance of Show/Hide
  • Change margins
  • Editing and formatting text – bold, font size etc
  • Adjust paragraph alignment and line spacing
  • Tabulations – use of the tab key
  • Create and manipulate data in Tables
  • Print documents
  • Save and open documents into specified drives and folders
  • Creating Posters

Teaching & assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete a short workbook and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham college sites. The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.
