This course is perfect if you have a love of colour, texture, fabric, surface pattern design, making, decoration and manipulating.
To develop a range of skills in a variety of techniques and processes including free motion embroidery, applique, fabric manipulation, repeat pattern design and using dissolving fabric. Reference will be made to historic and contemporary artists and designers during the course.
There will be opportunities to investigate and experiment with a broad range of materials and techniques to design and make. The teacher will demonstrate techniques, provide example samples and be available to give regular constructive feedback to help you develop skills and gain confidence.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.
There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites.
