Course outline

This course is perfect if you want to embark on a course that gives you access to football training with UEFA licenced coaches whilst also gaining qualifications that will equip you with practical skills and give you an insight into the many careers that exist in the sport, leisure and/or fitness industry.

You’ll learn about the broad spectrum of the sports industry and take part in different sports but the majority of the knowledge and theory will be applied to the workings of the football industry.

You will train a minimum of 3 days a week and play in AoC fixtures in addition to your course. Many current players have made the swift transition to the Forest Ladies senior teams.

Entry requirements

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English Language and Maths - one of these must be grade 9-3 (A*-D) and the other must be grade 9-4 (A*-C), Or you can gain a place with a relevant Level 1 vocational qualification with English and maths (one must be at least level 2 and one at least level 1).

Teaching & assessment

You will be assessed throughout the course including; practical tasks, fitness tasks and projects. You will also be asked to support these tasks with a record of evidence.

Progression

Choose to follow with a Level 3 programme in one of Nottingham College’s exciting sports pathways or you could also apply for one the many apprenticeships available through Nottingham College. Alternatively you could seek employment within a wide range of roles in the sport and leisure industry.
