Course outline

This 10 week course is aimed at both beginners and those with some experience or knowledge of painting.

The course will cover an introduction to mark-making with paint, colour theory and the use of materials and equipment.

It will also cover 2D formal elements such as composition, creating depth and perspective through a series of exercises.

During the latter part of the course you will have the opportunity to create a finished painting on either canvas or paper as guided by the tutor.

Denise Weston is currently an Art and Design tutor at Nottingham College and practising Fine Artist. She worked in Adult Education for 7 years prior to this at The University of Nottingham. She holds both a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art (First class) and an MA in Fine Art - Painting.
