Course outline
This course is perfect if you want to improve your plastering skills and think you’ve got what it takes to carve out a career as one of the best plasterers in town!
You’ll learn all about plastering in a commercial and domestic setting from internal solid plastering, one and two coat rendering systems, mechanically fixing plasterboard, setting up scaffolding and fixing and finishing dry lining. Customer skills and working on large projects are also important aspects of this course.
You can expect a combination of practical and theoretical learning to give you a good degree of knowledge and practice in this tricky art form. You’ll develop your skills within dedicated workshop spaces and with the full support of very experienced tutors, all with professional plastering backgrounds.
This course is based at the Basford Campus.
Aged 19 or over?
If you don't already hold a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to at least two A Levels, or a Level 3 vocational qualification), you can now study this course fully funded!
The Government’s new National Skills Fund programme has created new opportunities for adults, aged 19 and over, to access fully funded full-time learning.

| Teaching & assessment | Each unit is continually assessed. You will present evidence of competence via practical assessments and the production of a personal portfolio. You will also need to sit a GOLA exam at the end of the course or individual modular exams. |
| Progression | Choose to follow with an apprenticeship in plastering or a related field or into full time permanent employment as a qualified plasterer. |
